Expert Training Program on “Fire Prevention and Fire Fighting” held for the members from Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) was organized by the Union of Turkish World Municipalities (TDBB) in cooperation with Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IBB), Kocaeli Metropolitan Municipality and AFAD. At the program 10 firemen from Lefkoşa (Nicosia), Güzelyurt, Iskele, Gazimagusa, and Girne have participated. The program ended with the presentation and field trips that were held between 18-22 March 2018 in Istanbul and Kocaeli.

Nicosia Police Department Fire Brigade Officer Bender Kadı, Nicosia Police Department Fire Brigade Officer Niyazi İncirlili, Güzelyurt Police Department Fire Brigade Officer Erkal Sayım, Güzelyurt Police Department Fire Brigade Officer Selim Divarcı, Iskele Police Department Fire Brigade Officer Eser Solmaz, İskele Police Department Fire Brigade Officer Hasan Bozkurt, Famagusta Police Department Fire Brigade Officer Mehmet Aydener, Famagusta Police Department Fire Brigade Officer Mehmet Huseyin Sertum, Girne Police Department Fire Brigade Officer Murat Kansu and Police General Office Fire Brigade Officer Murat Ecersoy have attended the program.

On the first day of the program, the delegation visited AFAD Istanbul on Monday, March 19, 2018, and made a field trip after the presentation on “Disaster and Emergency Search and Rescue Works”. On the same day, the delegation has visited TDBB and met with Secretary-General Fahri Solak at Unions’s headquarters where they were informed about the program and the work of the TDBB. After the meeting in the TDBB, the participants visited Panorama Museum and Topkapi Turkish World Culture Houses.

On the second day of the program, the delegation visited the Istanbul Fire Station Başakşehir Resneli Education Center and made a field trip after the presentation on “Fire Prevention and Fire Fighting”.

The third and fourth days of the program were held on 21-22 March 2018. Kocaeli Metropolitan Municipality Fire Department gave training to the delegation and held field trips on subjects of “Fire Intervention Techniques”, “Progress in Closed and Smoky Spaces”, ” Survivors and Fire Source Search “, “Thermal Camera Usage” and “Traffic Accident Rescue”.

The program was completed with the introduction of gifts and the Participation Certificates.
