Organized by Union of Turkish World Municipalities (TDBB) in cooperation with Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TIKA), Kocaeli Metropolitan Municipality, Başakşehir Municipality, Küçükçekmece Municipality, Maltepe Municipality, Sancaktepe Municipality and Üsküdar Municipality, “Kyrgyzstan and Gagauz Autonomous Region Pre-School Educators Turkey Program” was completed on 17-23 February 2019 in Istanbul with the presentations and site visits.
The program was attended by Roza Otunbayeva Foundation General Manager Dogdurkul Kendirbaeva, National Eltr Tv General Manager Aibek Musaev, At-Başı Province Education Manager Duishonbek Dootkulov, Issık-Kul Province Education Institute Head of Methodology Department Elmira Uzakova, Khalmion Village Nursery Manager Ilazatkhan Abdurasulova, Osh Province Pedagogy University Head of Pedagogy Department Zhypargul Sherbaeva, Bakai-Ata Village High School Manager Gulnara Satymkulova, Narin State University Head of Pedagogy Department Ilmira Shermatova, Sarı-Bulak Village Nursery Manager Uulkan Kulmurzaeva, Kazaman Village Nursery Manager Mimoza Zhumalieva, Jelgyz Terek Nursery Manager Gulanda Musuralieva, Otunbaeva Foundation Project Organizator Aksana Moldalieva and Moldova Gagauz Autonomous Region Komrat Municipality Nursery No 1 Educator Olga Neicovcena, Komrat Municipality Nursery No 6 Gagauz Language Teacher Anna Griceniuc, Komrat Municipality Manager of Nursery No 8 Maria Cissa, Komrat Municipality Nursery No 9 Language Teacher Lidia Ostash, Manager of Süleyman Demirel Olga Tabacar.
The program in the first day on 18 February 2019 started with the delegation’s Ertuğrul Gazi Nursery and Gülbahar Hatun Nursery visit in Kocaeli Metropolitan Municipality after the presentations held, delegation made site visits. Then the group visited President of TDBB and Mayor of Kocaeli Metropolitan Municipality İbrahim Karaosmanoğlu. Delegation after the meeting with Karaosmanoğlu was given information on Kocaeli Metropolitan Municipality activities.
On the second day of the program, participants visited Kocaeli Provincial Directorate of National Education Haymeana Nursery and Kardelen Nursery and took information about the school activities by the educators and then made the site visits.
On the third day of the program on 20 February 2019 on Wednesday, delegation took the presentation in Üsküdar Municipality Bizim Çocuklarımız Nursery and then examined the school. In the same day afternoon, delegation visited TDBB. In the Union Headquarters, the group met with TDBB Secretary General Fahri Solak and was informed about the program and TDBB activities. Then, the participants visited Panorama 1453 History Museum and Topkapı Turkic World Culture Houses.
On the fourth day, participants visited Sancaktepe Municipality and listened presentation on municipality’s pre-school education activities. On the same day, program continued with Maltepe Municipality Directorate of Nurseries and Child Development visit and site visits on Maltepe Municipality pre-school education facilities.
On the fifth day of the program on 22 February 2019 on Friday, delegation visited Küçükçekmece Municipality – Municipality Nursery and took the presentation about the pre-school activities. In the same day afternoon, delegation visited Başakşehir Municipality and met with Mayor Yasin Kartoğlu. Then, the group visited Başakşehir Municipality Bilgi Evleri Facilities (Knowledge Houses) and Children University, there they listened presentations and made the site visits.
Closing Dinner and Certification Ceremony
Closing dinner and certification ceremony of the program was held with the hosting of Başakşehir Municipality Şelale Park Social Facilities. The ceremony was attended by Kyrgyz and Gagauz delegations, TDBB Secretary General Fahri Solak, Başakşehir Municipality Council Member Canan Özbek, Culture and Social Affairs Manager Mahmut Yavuz and Social Assistance Affairs Manager Şaduman Kutay.
TDBB Secretary General Fahri Solak in his speech at the ceremony stated that “We are hoping the program was beneficial for you. We, as TDBB, concern these kinds of programs and make effort to have participants experience and benefit as much as they do. I would like to thank all member municipalities and cooperation organizations and Başakşehir Municipality for the hosting of certification ceremony”.
Roza Otunbayeva Foundation General Manager from Kyrgyzstan Dogdurkul Kendirbaeva, “We do learn a lot about pre-school education and how children got educated since the pre-school education in Turkey with this program. Moreover, we found an opportunity to see the schools with site visits and we have learnt many things in each school. We will use what we see here in these schools aspects of education methods and materials when we get back to our home country. I would like to thank TDBB for organizing this program and municipalities that contributed to this program.
Delegation visited historical and touristic places of Istanbul on 23 February 2019. Program ended at the same day after the participants returned to their home countries.
