The project of construction of football, volleyball, basketball courts and playground for children, carried out by Union of Turkish World Municipalities (TDBB), in cooperation with the Bosnia-Herzegovina Federation Ministry of Migration and Displaced Persons and Kotor Varos Municipality, was delivered with a ceremony held on November 4, 2021.
The ceremony was attended by Bosnia-Herzegovina Federation Minister of Displaced Persons Edin Ramiç, TDBB Secretary General Fahri Solak, Mayor of Kotor Varos Zdenko Sakan, Turkish Republic Consul General in Banja Luka Oğuz Kılıç and guests.
Minister Edin Ramić said, “This project was very important for the people of Kotor-Varos. It was very important for us to complete this project, which benefits all citizens living in Kotor-Varos, in a short time. I think the best way to keep people in their cities and homes is to provide the necessary facilities, especially children and youth. I think that this facility, which we have built in cooperation, will be a service that will meet the needs of young people.”
Solak, in his speech at the opening, emphasized that TDBB has members from 30 different countries, but Bosnia and Herzegovina is one of the countries with the most intense cooperation. Solak said, “Children are our hope and our future. I hope that children in Bosnia and Herzegovina will build the future peacefully. We are trying to do our part to see that the people of Bosnia and Herzegovina live in peace. This project is important both in terms of being aimed at young people and being carried out in one of the cities far from the capital of the country.”
Saying that Kotor Varoş Municipality’s contribution to this project is approximately ten percent, Mayor Zdenko Sakan said, “This playground will be a service that adds value to our youth and children. As a municipality, we are trying to produce the most beneficial services to our people. This project was realized as a result of the relations developed by our Ministry of Migration and Displaced Persons, Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, and TDBB. I would like to thank both institutions for this project. We hope that other joint projects will be here as well”.
The ceremony was concluded with the cutting of the ribbon, the exchange of gifts and a photo shoot to commemorate the day.
