The eighth internship program of Union of Turkish World Municipalities (TDBB) and Kyrgyzstan-Turkey Manas University was held in Istanbul between 08-31 July 2024.
Kyrgyzstan-Turkey Manas University Economics Department Students Jhetigen Subanov, Nuraiym Matıraımova, Zhibek Satymbekova, Business Administration Department Student Nurkyz Saparbekova and Banking and Finance Department Student Baktygul Bakırova participated in TDBB 2024 internship program.
The students worked in different units of TDBB and closely followed how international local government relations are carried out, international correspondence procedures, how sister city relations are established and how TDBB’s activities are progressing.
Students also examined the activities of Zeytinburnu Municipality Directorate of Financial Services, Kağıthane Municipality Directorate of Human Resources and Training, Fatih Municipality Directorate of Social Affairs, Ümraniye Municipality Directorate of Enterprises and Subsidiaries, Bahçelievler Municipality Directorate of Culture and Social Affairs.
During their local government visits, the students visited Science Zeytinburnu, Scout House, Medicinal Plants Garden in Zeytinburnu Municipality; Fatih Art Academy, Fatih Libraries, Fatih Career Center in Fatih Municipality; Cultural Center, Information House, Millet Garden, Municipal Libraries in Ümraniye Municipality; and Barrier-Free Life Center, Bikariyer, Alper Gezeravcı Digital Entrepreneurship and Incubation Center in Bahçelievler Municipality.
Students also visited Rami Library, IRCICA library and museums in Istanbul.
In addition, the 2024 Internship students examined the activities of Yıldırım Municipality (Bursa) and then visited the historical and touristic places of Bursa with a Bursa city tour.
The internship program was completed with the students receiving their certificates of participation at a ceremony held at TDBB headquarters on 31 July 2024.
