Union of Turkish World Municipalities (TDBB) August Executive Board Meeting was held via video conference on August 29, 2024.
The meeting, chaired by President of TDBB and Mayor of Konya Metropolitan Municipality Uğur İbrahim Altay, was attended by TDBB Secretary General Fahri Solak, TDBB Executive Board members Mayor of Şahinbey Mehmet Tahmazoğlu, Mayor of Bağcılar Abdullah Özdemir, Mayor of Başiskele Yasin Özlü and Deputy Mayor of Zeytinburnu Osman Dinç.
The meeting continued with TDBB Secretary General Fahri Solak providing information about the projects carried out and the agenda since the Administrative Board meeting on July 25, 2024, and discussing the agenda items.
Within this framework, it was decided to organize an experience sharing program for local administrators from the Gagauz Region in collaboration with TDBB, Presidency of the Gagauz Autonomous Region; to participate in the “Kilim (Rug) Festival,” which will be held in Gagauz Autonomous Region, Moldova, on 6-8 September, 2024, representing TDBB; to organize an experience sharing program for TDBB member municipalities in Uzbekistan in cooperation with TDBB, the Uzbekistan Yuksalish Movement, and member municipalities on 8-14 September, 2024; to participate in the “Urban Forum,” which will be held in Kyrgyzstan on 16-18 October, 2024, with a delegation from TDBB; to work on establishing a sister city relationship between Taş-Kömür Municipality (Kyrgyzstan) and a suitable municipality in Turkey; to work on establishing sister city relationships between the Jalıözek and Jarkent Municipalities (Kazakhstan) and suitable municipalities in Turkey; to organize the “sister city protocol signing ceremony” between Zeytinburnu Municipality and Navoi Municipality (Uzbekistan) to be held on 11 September 2024, hosted by Zeytinburnu Municipality in Istanbul; and to hold the September Executive Board Meeting in Konya on 15 September 2024.
