Union of Turkish World Municipalities (TDBB) October Administrative Board Meeting was held on 30 October 2024, hosted by Bağcılar Municipality in Istanbul, with the participation of local administrators from eight different countries (Azerbaijan, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Kyrgyzstan, Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC), North Macedonia, Mongolia, the Autonomous Region of Gagauzia in Moldova, and Turkey).

The meeting, chaired by President of TDBB and Mayor of Konya Metropolitan Municipality Uğur İbrahim Altay, was attended by TDBB Secretary General Fahri Solak, TDBB Board Members, Mayor of Bağcılar Abdullah Özdemir, President of the Azerbaijan Union of City Municipalities Temraz Tağıyev, Mayor of Novi Grad in Bosnia and Herzegovina Semir Efendić, Deputy Director General of the Union of Local Authorities of Kyrgyzstan Daniiar Aitbaev, President of the Union of Turkish Cypriot Municipalities (KTBB) Mahmut Özçınar, Mayor of Tetovo in North Macedonia Bilal Kasami, President of the Union of Local Authorities of Mongolia Batbold Sundui, President of the Autonomous Region of Gagauzia in Moldova Evghenia Gutul, Mayor of Başiskele (Kocaeli) Mehmet Yasin Özlü, Mayor of Karatay (Konya) Hasan Kılca, Mayor of Pendik Ahmet Cin, Mayor of Selçuklu (Konya) Ahmet Pekyatırmacı, Mayor of Şahinbey (Gaziantep) Mehmet Tahmazoğlu, Mayor of Tavşanlı (Kütahya) Ali Kemal Derin, Mayor of Ümraniye (Istanbul) İsmet Yıldırım, and Mayor of Zeytinburnu (Istanbul) Ömer Arısoy.

The meeting continued with TDBB Secretary General Fahri Solak’s providing information on the activities carried out and the agenda since the Administrative Board meeting on 25 July 2024, following the discussions on the agenda items.

Within this framework, it was decided to prepare an informational letter to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs regarding the restoration project of the Firdus Mosque in Livno (Bosnia and Herzegovina), to implement the project to contribute to the Annual Expenses of the Guests Staying at the Srebrenica Hatidza Mehmedovic Care Home, requested by EMMAUS Aid Association, in cooperation with Union of Turkish World Municipalities (TDBB) and the Municipalities of Selçuklu (Konya) and Karatay (Konya), to provide participant support for the ‘Local Governments Panel’ to be held within the scope of the 29th United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change Conference of the Parties (COP29) in Baku, Azerbaijan, in cooperation with the Union of Turkish World Municipalities (TDBB) and Konya Metropolitan Municipality, to organize an information and experience sharing program for Albanian mayors in 2025 in cooperation with Union of Turkish World Municipalities (TDBB), the Albanian Association of Municipalities, and member municipalities, to provide support from Union of Turkish World Municipalities (TDBB) for the ‘7th Turkic World Science and Culture Festival,’ organized by the Turkic World Children’s Foundation to be held in Samsun on 13-15 November 2024, to provide support for the Balkan Festival requested by Yunus Emre Institute (YEE) in cooperation with Union of Turkish World Municipalities (TDBB) and Karatay (Konya) Municipality, to conduct work related to the Sister City relationship to be established between Kavaje Municipality (Albania) and Karatay Municipality (Konya) under the coordination of Union of Turkish World Municipalities (TDBB), to conduct work to establish a sister city relationship between Taş-Kömür Municipality (Kyrgyzstan) and Tavşanlı Municipality (Kütahya), to conduct work to establish a sister city relationship between Jarkent Municipality (Kazakhstan) and an appropriate municipality in Turkey, to represent the Union of Turkish World Municipalities (TDBB) by participating in the ‘National Culture Festival’ to be held in Gagauzia on 9 November 2024, organized by the Presidency of the Gagauz Autonomous Region of Moldova, to hold the 2024 High Advisory Council Meeting of the Union of Turkish World Municipalities (TDBB) on 28 November 2024, at the TDBB Headquarters, together with the Executive Board Meeting, to conduct work to hold the Union of Turkish World Municipalities (TDBB)Administrative Board Meeting for January 2025, hosted by Tetovo Municipality in North Macedonia, and  to accept the membership application of Evreşe Municipality (Çanakkale) to the Union of Turkish World Municipalities (TDBB) in accordance with Article 5, paragraph c of the bylaws.
