TDBB 2026 Summer Internship Program Completed
The ninth of the internship programs carried out in cooperation between the Union of Turkish World Municipalities (TDBB) and Kyrgyzstan-Türkiye Manas University was held in Istanbul between 6 and 31 July 2026.
Students from the Department of International Relations at Manas University, Aimeri Abdykadyrova and Bael Zhumanalıev; Ainazik Kabylzhanova, a student from the Department of Economics; and Akylai Satynbekova and Busurmankul Ibraimov, students from the Department of Business Administration, participated in the TDBB 2026 Summer Internship Program.
Within the scope of the program, the students had the opportunity to gain practical knowledge about the functioning of international local government relations, international correspondence procedures, the processes of establishing sister city relations, and the activities carried out by the Union by working in different departments of TDBB.
As part of the internship program, the students visited and examined on-site the activities of the Directorate of Business and Affiliates of Arnavutköy Municipality, the Directorate of Financial Services of Bayrampaşa Municipality, the Directorate of Culture, Arts and Social Affairs of Beykoz Municipality, the Directorate of Research and Development of Esenler Municipality, and the Directorate of Climate Change and Zero Waste of Gaziosmanpaşa Municipality, gaining information about the institutional functioning of municipalities.
Within the scope of local government visits, the students visited the Arnavutköy Municipality Education and Youth Center and Art Academy; Bayrampaşa Municipality Employment Center, Women’s Life and Youth Sports Center, and Food Production Center; Beykoz Municipality’s free culture, arts and education courses and social assistance services; Esenler Municipality’s Teknopark Esenler, Young Talent, Akademi Esenler and ESGEV; and Gaziosmanpaşa Municipality’s Bilim Gaziosmanpaşa, Language Academy and Information Houses.
As part of the program, the students also examined the municipal activities carried out by Yıldırım Municipality on-site and participated in a city tour covering the historical and cultural sites of Bursa.
The TDBB 2026 Summer Internship Program concluded with the presentation of certificates of participation to the students at a ceremony held at the TDBB Headquarters.
